Power Rangers Wild Force S1E25 Reinforcements from the Future Part 2 »

Recap

The Wild Force and Time Force Rangers team up with Ransik and Nadira to destroy the Mut-Orgs before they pollute the Earth.

Tropes

  • Ambiguous Ending: In regards to Jen and Wes' love story. The episode establishes that Jen and Wes are still in love with each other, though whether or not they're able to stay together is left ambiguous. Jen claims that Wes isn't the only one who can change their destiny, but that's the only hint that she might stay.
  • Connected All Along: Ransik is responsible for the Mut-Orgs creation. Before he formed his criminal gang, he found the statues of three Orgs, who wanted revenge against humanity and offered him great power if he freed them. Ransik, seeing that they had the same quest at the time, agreed. He freed them from the statues and then they copied his mutant DNA to create new bodies for themselves. In return, they gave him his ability to create weapons from his body.
  • Crossover: With the Time Force Rangers, capped off with a picnic and some Ranger bonding.
    • Power Rangers Wild Force S1E25 Reinforcements from the Future Part 2 - TV Tropes (1)Crossover Ship: Taylor x Eric.
      • Shipper on Deck: Wes, immediately.

    Wes: Just your type!
    Eric: Are you kidding?

  • Enemy Mine: When Ransik found the Orgs that would become the Mut-Orgs, this was his reasoning for freeing them after hearing they wanted revenge on humans.

Ransik: If humans are your enemy, then our quest IS THE SAME!

  • Foreshadowing: Ransik in the future, before the year 3000, finds the Orgs who became the Mut-Orgs in the Nexus, which at the time will be in ruins, and there'll be no other Orgs to restore it.
  • Funny Background Event: When Princess Shayla tells Wes about seeing an owl in the static holoscreen (which was Circuit), Cole can be seen trying to touch it for curiosity, only to have his hand slapped away by Danny.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Ransik and Nadira.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Ransik sacrifices himself, interrupting the Mut-Orgs' energy incantation to destroy their mutant halves. Amazingly, he survives and is also purged of his mutant half, making him completely human.
  • Holding Hands: Nadira and Lucas at the celebration picnic after Max tried to flirt with her.
  • Irony: On a meta level. When most of the Rangers are resting on the Animarium (after the Time Force Rangers arrive in 2002), Taylor gets to know Eric a bit by asking about his Quantum Defender sidearm. When she tries to find a way to operate it (short of firing off an energy blast), Eric calmly admonishes her that it's not a toy. Not only is the prop an actual toy, but supposedly the producers didn't have the original DV Defender Super Sentai prop on hand, so one of them ran down to a Target store and bought one of the toys as a replacement.
  • My Greatest Failure: Ransik, after seeing the error of his ways at the end of Time Force sees his creation of the Mut-Orgs as this. He helps the Rangers face them in battle and risks his life to destroy their mutant halves for the Rangers to finish them.

Ransik: I created these monsters. Now it's up to me to fix my mistake!

  • Off-the-Shelf FX: A meta example crossed with Irony. Apparently the producers did not keep Toei's prop of Eric's Quantum Defender weapon for the crossover, and had to make-do with a store-bought toy. In the context of the story, as Taylor is trying to figure out how to operate the Quantum Defender, it makes Eric's comment of "Careful, that's not a toy" ironic.
  • Oh, Crap!: The Mut-Orgs have one when they realize Ransik has destroyed their mutant halves, meaning they’re now much weaker and vulnerable.

    Rofang: Mutant power gone! Retreat!

  • One-Sided Arm-Wrestling: Just before both teams say goodbye, Danny and Katie have a friendly armwrestling match which Katie wins easily due to her being bioengineered with super strength.
  • Papa Wolf: Ransik furiously attacks Rofang for harming Nadira right in front of him. Also more hilarious at the end of the episode when he spots Max trying to give Nadira a bouquet of flowers.
  • Polluted Wasteland: Master Org and the Mut-Orgs intended to turn Turtle Cove in this by polluting the city with the smoke of a power plant.
  • Sdrawkcab Speech: Largely averted, save for one single line from Rofang. (Ransik disrupting their incantation causes them to lose their mutant halves, and their backward speech.)

    Rofang: < Combine Powers! >

  • The Reveal: Ransik's ability of pulling weapons of his own body is revealed to have been granted by the Mut-Orgs in return for having freed them from their stone prisons.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Inverted. Merrick only shows up before the final battle with the Mut-Orgs.
  • Would Hit a Girl: The Mut-Org Rofang has no problem with attacking Nadira in the power plant they were occupying.
