The Hard Truth About V Shred: A Critical Review - 33rd Square (2024)

V Shred has made big claims about its ability to help people lose weight fast. With expensive programs, supplements, and questionable practices, I decided to take a closer look behind the ripped, shirtless spokesman to find out if V Shred is worth your time and money.

What is V Shred?

V Shred is a fitness app and supplement company founded in 2015 by Vince Sant. Sant is a social media star known for his ultra-ripped physique. Along with three other founders, he set out to build customized diet and workout solutions.

The company is now valued at over $200 million, but provides little transparency about their origins, products, or practices. They offer plans tailored to body type and gender, along with supplements, app workouts, and a $20 per month membership program called V Shred University.

Pros:

  • Customized plans
  • Positive reviews on workouts
  • 30-day money back guarantee

Cons:

  • Misleading marketing
  • Recurring hidden charges
  • Poor customer service
  • Lack of transparency

So while V Shred seems legit at first glance, there are some definite red flags when you look closer.

An Inside Look at V Shred‘s Programs

V Shred has a variety of workout programs like "Ripped in 90 Days" and "Fat Loss Extreme." Programs claim to provide detailed fitness and diet plans to help you lose weight quickly.

They range from 8-12 weeks in length. You‘ll get access to workout videos through their app, meal guidance, supplements, and additional features through their V Shred University membership.

This all sounds nice, but expert reviews have questioned the validity of these rapid weight loss claims. Most experts agree that safe, sustainable weight loss takes time and patience – not three months. Promises to get "ripped" fast are likely misleading.

Additionally, these programs require you to purchase supplements and membership in addition to the workout plans. This drives up the total cost dramatically.

The Truth About V Shred‘s Supplements

Along with workout programs, V Shred has a line of "Sculpt Nation" branded supplements. The most popular one is Burn Evolved, a metabolism and fat burning formula.

They advertise it alongside some impressive claims: "increase energy," "powered by capsimax cayenne pepper," and "torch fat fast."

But the bottom line is that no supplement will ever replace proper nutrition and regular exercise. As consumer experts have reported, supplements play an assisting role at best – not a starring one.

And while a boost in energy or metabolism could benefit your weight loss efforts indirectly, no pill alone will directly cause fat to melt off your body. Claims to "burn fat fast" or "torch fat" are exaggerated.

This isn‘t to say supplements can‘t provide some benefit. But V Shred portrays them as magic solutions while burying the necessary lifestyle disclaimers. This is misleading at best.

Questionable Customer Reviews and Testimonials

Nearly every V Shred ad and post depicts stunning before and after photos alongside rave reviews. At face value, it gives the impression that their programs produce incredible results.

But if you look closer, something seems off. The "reviews" read more like sales copy than real customer opinions. And when you check credible review sites like BBB and TrustPilot, the story changes completely.

Many customers allege hidden fees, refusal to cancel subscriptions, lack of support, and products that don‘t work. Some even call V Shred an outright scam.

While some customers share success stories, there is clearly some manipulation happening behind the scenes. V Shred heavily promotes only their most impressive transformations while ignoring the many unhappy customers.

This is a tactic used by lower quality programs to lure people in. It‘s certainly concerning they aren‘t transparent about less successful customer outcomes.

V Shred University Auto-Pay Nightmares

V Shred‘s monthly membership program sounds helpful for keeping you on track. But judging by the excessive complaints around billing practices, it can turn nightmarish fast.

Numerous customers report being unable to cancel their subscriptions even after repeated contact attempts. Others have had additional products like diet plans secretly added to their bill without consent. Reaching customer service for help is often impossible.

While a minority have had positive experiences (after publicly complaining), most describe frustration around V Shred refusing refunds, ignoring inquiries, and repeatedly billing them.

These alarming experiences indicate highly aggressive sales tactics, overcharging, and poor customer care. For people trying to improve wellbeing, this causes unneeded stress.

The Pressure to Buy More at Checkout

Here‘s one of V Shred‘s most questionable practices. When you attempt to purchase any product, you get funneled into high pressure upsell videos before checkout.

You‘re forced to watch lengthy presentations making dubious health claims around special offers. Then you must click through several pages reiterating those claims before V Shred finally reveals the prices and lets you checkout.

These high pressure, anxiety-inducing sales tactics don‘t align with their image as fitness and health professionals. They exist to drive impulse purchases, not help customers.

For a company claiming to support health, deliberately using stress and urgency to sell comes across as disingenuous.

Lack of Certified Professionals and Credentials

My final concern surrounds V Shred‘s lack of credentials. Founder Vince Sant calls himself a "best-selling fitness author" and "celebrity trainer" – but credentials confirming this are absent.

There seem to be no registered dietitians creating nutrition plans or certified personal trainers reviewing workout programs. The entire team lacks verifiable health and wellness credentials.

For the exorbitant fees they charge, this raises red flags. Qualified professionals lend legitimacy – and their absence hurts V Shred‘s credibility.

If Vince Sant and his team had backing through respected health/fitness organizations, they would advertise this front and center. The fact credentials are totally missing makes me question what qualifications they truly have.

V Shred vs. Openfit: A More Trustworthy Alternative

For a company with so many customer complaints and questionable methods, I decided to compare V Shred to Openfit, a more transparent fitness app.

While both offer customized diet and workout programs delivered via app, Openfit has certified personal trainers leading live video workouts. Their nutrition plans are science-based and overseen by experts.

Openfit‘s billing practices are clear and fair – no hidden fees or forced continuity programs. And best of all, they offer much more workout variety delivered by credentialed pros.

Between the two, Openfit appears vastly superior for sustainable, science-backed health and fitness compared to V Shred‘s gimmicky claims.

The Final Verdict: V Shred Isn‘t Worth the Risk

V Shred lures people in with dramatic weight loss promises, low prices, and remarkable transformations. But beneath the surface lies sub-par support, recurring billing complaints, and lack of credentials.

The reality is most customers don‘t experience V Shred‘s promoted results. And those who try are pressured to spend more through shady checkout tactics.

If you truly want lasting change, seek qualified health professionals – not social media celebs making big promises for a quick buck. Proceed with extreme caution using V Shred. Your time and money deserve better.
